Via dell'Olmo

The road is mentioned in medieval documents as corso (main street) di Schiaccia Vecchia. The name suggests its importance compared to other streets of Santa Fiora, simply called contrade (alleys) and it was probably not paved. The word Schiaccia in fact means “paving slabs of stone.”
There is an architrave sculpted in the 15th century and on a nearby medieval house, two signs engraved by master stonemasons likely of French origin.
