Fonti pubbliche di Castello
The public fountain was built in 1589 by the will of Count Mario I Sforza and of the community of Santa Fiora. It has been restored many times over the years. In the 17th century, the wings and side masks were added, and in the 19th century, the washtubs and a tank that collects water from the four central masks were built or modified.
The fountain served the families of Castello district, while the inhabitants of Borgo and Montecatino used the public fountain and washtubs outside the Peschiera.
